Cardiff Man Rushed to John Hunter Hospital

Location: The Hunter Valley, New South Wales, Australia

At approximately 9:00pm tonight, Newcastle Police Officers attended the home of a Cardiff resident. The football had just ended on television, when the male decided to end his life with a steak knife. It is not known if the outcome of the football game had played a role with the attempt on his life.

Before the Officer's arrival, the man had pulled out the knife. Officers stated that the man had washed away any evidence of how much damage was inflicted. The male was coherent and cooperative with the assistance he had received.

Earlier in the day, he had been eating spiders when he was bitten on the right wrist by a redback spider. The Officers assisted the male to John Hunter Hospital's Emergency Department, while continuing medical care.
