As explained in a previous news post 'Alerts and Warnings', the Internet can be an advantage to us all. But, it can also be quite dangerous and hazardous. As a concerned citizen, I always try to keep updated with local, national and international news. My main concern has always been about my own local community and sharing all of our concerns online.
'The WatchDog' is 'The Hunter Citizen's' new news segment. There are many projects within the segment which are aimed at the local community and providing them with up-to-date news and any current alerts or warnings. This is what we've been working on so far:
• To provide consumers with information about current articles, businesses, companies, stories who've given the customer a raw deal. This project covers many different areas, such as:
* Scamming - Online/Offline.
* Unprofessionalism - businesses who conduct business differently to known companies and are usually the types of companies that don't last very long. Most companies which are like this, are owned and operated by the same person.
• Providing the community with information and news about known offenders.
In lamen's terms: We lead the crackdown on those who have, and continue to wrong others - depending on the source of the story, we may only be able to post personal experiences.
